Paul had an amazing way of connecting with people. There was always something about him that made it hard not to smile when you were around him. He always made me feel relaxed, and it was so easy to be around him. I have many fond memories of Paul. He was a truly special person.
Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. You and Paul will be in my thoughts during this difficult time.

Paul was a friend of mine. A true friend. We never got to meet in real life, but we chatted online almost daily. We'd chat about poker, life, family, friends, relationships, girls, jokes, evony, and all sorts of other random topics.
Paul always knew how to make me laugh when I was sad. Or he knew how to listen when I was having girl problems. He was someone that no matter what the problem I was facing was, would listen and help me get over it.
Paul was a big part of the online poker community. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I can't put into words how great of a guy Paul was.
He will be missed.

I am another "internet" friend of Paul's. He was a very special man who I spent a great amount of time talking with. He was there for me whenever I needed someone to talk to selflessly. My sorrow now is selfish. I will miss having him in my life, but I take comfort believing he is able to find some sort of peace finally. My heart felt well wishes go out to his family. We spoke a bit about our families with each other, I know Paul loved his mother very much and didn't like to make her worry. So, Mrs. Joynt, I want you to know that it means something that he touched so many lives by just being there for him. Your son is an amazing human being and you should be nothing but proud for raising such a kind-hearted soul. You did something very right and I thank you for that. I'm so glad I knew him, I'm so very glad. He was a wonderful friend and I will miss him dearly.

I'm also one of the online friends. I didn't know Paul as well as some others did but he was a good friend to me too. He was always sweet and caring and could make anyone laugh. Everyone loved him, our online community is heartbroken now. My heart goes out for the family and especially Paul's mother. Paul was a son to be proud of. He will forever be in our hearts.

Paul aka "Reef" was a close friend of mine and this comes as a great shock to me. He was a very honest guy who i would have no problem trusting with money time and time again and he was quite a good FR poker player as well. When i first met Paul he had no money at all but we would talk about the game and he showed me quickly that he was a smart guy and a strong player and I took a chance on him because i just had a gut feeling about him and so i shipped him some money so he could start playing poker. He beat the game at a much higher rate than myself and made us both a lot of money. Then when our "stake" ended he lost all of his profits in one night. This same process happened 4 times. I staked him, he made a bunch of money, he started playing on his own, and lost it all. He said this happened because, he cared about other peoples money more than he cared about his own.. And i defniitely believed him. He was a selfless person, not a greedy person and so the money isnt what he cared about. He cared abuot doing right by his friends , so when he played with our money, he played great. And when he played on his own, he showed he didnt really care about the money and he lost. Paul was a very peaceful, nice, softspoken guy. He loved his parents and his friends , and we will miss you "reef" .

It wasn't until I saw some of the tributes that I could let the tears come. It's amazing how close you can get to someone in a short time. Paul was hilarious with a twisted sense of humor, and we all loved that about him! I also had the privilege of seeing the sweet, thoughtful side of him when he felt like "real talk". It means so much to me to have had his friendship though the time was too short. We wanted to have a Canadian meet up of 4L and show everybody a great time here, but we didn't get that chance. Still, I want the whole family to know that Paul had a community that loved him never having met him. I miss you Paul.

Paul was a very sweet, funny, kind, and generous friend. We spent countless hours talking online and I am very grateful to have gotten to know him. He was a very silly and wonderful man!
The day I met him, he had me laughing so hard and in such a good mood I was literally singing a song about a Chimpanzee riding on a Segway and skipping down the hall, which did not (at first) amuse my wife who had just woken up, but she was quickly won over by the contagious joy that he brought to me and so many others. As painful as it is that our friendship has been cut senselessly short, even in the anger and lamentation in the wake of his loss I can't help but laugh and smile at many thousands of funny moments we have shared.
I profoundly wish there were something that I could say that could be some small condolence to you but realize the futility of that hope. It is my devout wish that in the coming days, weeks, and years that you will be far more given to reflect on what you had in such a man than what you lost. From the bottom of my heart I wish you every good thing!

I, like many others, knew Paul through our internet community. Though separated by computer screens, tubes and wires, there are often people who can reach out and touch others through this medium. Paul "reefdawg" Joynt was one of these people. He was truly a caring, kind, interesting and funny person. Through voice conversations, our community has established a strong bond, with him as one of the more prominent members. In groups, he would create laughter, while in one on one conversation he would truly show just how much he cared for others. I will and already do miss him. My heart goes out to his family.

Paul, there are no words to express how much you meant to so many of us for such a long time. There is no way to describe how much you will be missed. You did a lot of great things in the couple years I've known you, and you will never be forgotten.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
