To the family of Wes Smith I wish to extend my sincere condolences to all of you and would be there to offer them in person if distance did not dictate otherwise. I have lost track of Wes in recent years, however I wish to share the very honourable memories from the past, that I have of him. Wes was hired in as a technician by a panel representing the three County Boards of Education within the Lanark, Leeds and Grenville area. Every time a visitor came to the Learning Materials Center, they were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile. Every time a teacher asked him for extra assistance it was generously given. Occasionally Wes was asked to substitute for an absent driver. At these times he would bring a friendly smile with his films and video tape to all of the schools that he visited. Every day he gave his best. Teachers influenced the classroom of students in front of them. Wes and his fellow workers at the Learning Materials Centre influenced thousands of students from behind the scenes. For all of these memories, I salute you Wes and thank you on behalf all of those students and teachers. Harry R. Johnston
