Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 95, Smiths Falls, ON) Passed away peacefully in hospital, Smiths Falls on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, Michael Edward Shannon at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Jeannine (Bélanger) Shannon. Loved father of Kenneth Shannon of London and Bridget Baker (Garry Crabtree) of Smiths Falls. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Darryl Shannon and his wife Julie of Moosonee, Scott Shannon of Toronto, Pauline and Annie Shannon both of London and Matthew Baker and his wife Eva (Kuczinski) of Edmonton and great-grandchildren Ethan, Daleyna, Anakin and Dakota. Dear brother of Belmont Shannon, Jean (Lionel) Michaud and brother-in-law of Joyce Shannon, Jean Shannon Armand Bélanger, Roland Bélanger, and Pauline Denis. Predeceased by his parents James and Gertrude (Ward) Shannon, sister Olive Jenkins, brothers Walter and Thomas Shannon, sisters-in-law Josephine (Joyce) Shannon, Elmina, Laetitia and Ann Bélanger and Violet Lyles, brothers-in-law Walter Jenkins, Raoul Denis and Roger Bélanger. Fondly remembered by Jacques Beauregard, Michael, Julie and Milla Crabtree, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church, Smiths Falls on Saturday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. In remembrance, donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
