I am sad and happy at the same time. Sad that you are not here with us. Happy because your in a better place now. God knows your trying to run things up there too! Now I know the true meaning for family. We are more alike than different. We will look after Mother, the rest is up the you.

I am saddened for you Susan, Stephen, Sam, Sean and Simon to have lost your father, father in law and grandfather. I enjoyed hearing some of the stories about Charles from Susan from time to time. I can see the family resemblance in his photograph. You were a wonderful daughter, Susan, and I can imagine that Charles loved you dearly. I know it was your father's time to say good-bye and to leave fond memories of a long life with you, but it still isn't easy for you to say good-bye to him. My heart is with you at this sad time.

I was saddened to learn of Charlie's passing. I have many great memories of him when we spent time at the farm with my parents. He was a great neighbour. You and I grew up in the Portland area and spent happy times to-gether. I know how difficult it is to carry on without your husband. Charlie,
All the memories I have of you are good ones, You taught me so much over the years when I was a young man. If not for you I may never have learned the things in life that I am glad I know now. I enjoyed working with you on the farm and in the bush. You taught me how to run a chain saw, drive a tractor, plow a lane way, show cattle, drive a truck and trailer, saw lumber the list goes on. You took me in the first year I moved back to Ottawa, gave me a home to stay in, food in my belly, even a truck with fuel in it and some pocket money to head into the big city to visit my future wife. lol. You taught me not to be afraid of doing honest hard work for a living. Years later when times were tough you took me and my wife and two very little grandchildren in once again, until we got on our feet. I only came to visit you once while you where in the nursing home, it was hard for me. Thank you Charlie for all you have done for me, I will miss you, I will make sure Wendell and Cheyanne will live on and tell their children the fond stories and memories I have of their Grandfather. Rest in peace Charlie, knowing that you helped so many people, and you made a difference in peoples lives.
