Murphy, John W. Passed away peacefully in hospital, Smiths Falls, on Monday, October 4, 2010 John William Murphy at the age of 74. Loved father of Tracy (Mike) Fitzgerald and their children Brittany, Tyler and Rebecca of Lombardy and Tom (Tracy) Murphy and their children Chloe and Ava of Kingston. Dear brother of Mary Allen of Smiths Falls, Margaret (Stuart) Chant of Portland, Rita Purcell of Smiths Falls, Dan (Mara) Murphy of London, Joseph (Patricia) Murphy of Smiths Falls, Charlie (Colleen) Murphy of Smiths Falls, Kathy (Vince) Hamilton of Port Elmsley and Patricia (Gary) Whitmore of Frankville. Brother-in-law of Daniel Oates and Jerry Kehoe. Predeceased by his parents John and Emmeline Murphy, brothers Jerry, Donald, Frank, Austin, sisters Shelia Oates and Maureen Kehoe and brothers-in-law Ernest Allen and Ralph Purcell. Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews, extended family and many good friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Thursday October 7, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis de Sales Church, Smiths Falls on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Interment, Blessed Sacrament Cemetery, Lombardy. In remembrance, contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
