Mackay, Diane Louise (Vickers)
January 1, 1960 – August 9, 2023
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of Diane Mackay’s passing on August 9, 2023, at the Perth Hospital. Diane left us peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with dementia.
She was the beloved wife of Scott Mackay for 40 years and the cherished mother of Rachel, Natalie (Jamie), Shane (Nicole) and Ashley (Danny). Diane was also a proud and loving Grandma to Maeve, Caine, Ayla, Percy and Miles. We will always remember her with fondness and love.
Diane will be forever remembered by her siblings David (Elizabeth) Vickers, Linda Millette, Tom (Lisa) Vickers, Jim (Taryn) Vickers and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leonard and Marjory Vickers.
Diane was a woman of grace, kindness and strength who touched the lives of all who knew her. She spent over twenty years as a stay-at-home-mom to her four children—which she fondly referred to as the happiest time in her life. Later in her life, she managed the supplements, health and beauty department at Foodsmiths and then opened her own natural health store where she spent six more years helping people lead healthier lives.
Throughout her life, Diane was a source of inspiration and comfort to those around her. She was always willing to go the extra mile to help someone in need. Her gentle spirit and caring heart were a constant reminder of the goodness in the world. She will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering faith in God.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life at the Rideau Christian Fellowship on Monday, August 28 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

In remembrance of Diane, donations to the Perth & Smith Falls District Hospital Foundation – Perth Site would be greatly appreciated.
