Passed away peacefully, with family by her side in hospital, Smiths Falls on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 Grace Thompson (nee Coleman) at the age of 90. Grace was predeceased by her infant daughter Sheila Ann Thompson (1952), her son Melvon Robert Thompson (2012), her son-in-law Gerald Barr (1995), her infant great-grandsons Riley Dopson (2005) and Massey Jackson (2011). Grace is also predeceased by her loving husband and best friend for more than 70 years Rev. Robert Thompson (May 2012). Loving and devoted mother of Sandy Barr (Rory MacKay), Nancy (Ron) Ferguson, Peggy (Bill) Dopson, and Wendy (Tim) van der Horn. Cherished grandmother of Tina Thompson (Paul), Cory (Kim) Barr, Melissa (Ian) Barr Jackson, Rob (Allison) Ferguson, Ron (Sara) Ferguson, Steve (Tara Lee) Ferguson, William (Amy) Ferguson, David Dopson, Tom (Jen) Dopson and Tiemen van der Horn. Grace's family also included her very special 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as her many extended family and friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the Chapel at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Bible Society.
