I'm so sorry to hear this news. I have so many great memories of times spent up at the Big Rideau with Bill. Whether out on the boat or watching, encouraging and laughing at Colin and I, putting in the docks in frigid spring conditions. His generosity and hospitality are things I will never forget. My thoughts are with the entire Unsworth family.

Oh Nancy! I am so sorry. Bill was wonderful. I cannot imagine him gone. I will always remember hiding the shopping from him! He was so strong and quiet when you were in the hospital for your brain tumour. He loved you so much. You are strong and wonderful, but you don't have to be strong all the time. Remember that. Remember that it is okay to ask for help. It is okay to cry and yell and jump up and down if you need to. Your grief is yours. No one can tell you how to do it and there is no right or wrong. I am here for you. I love you and I loved Bill. No matter what you need, no matter when, night or day, I am here.

Dear Nancy and Family: How very sorry we are for your loss. Words just can’t seem to say how much he will be missed. Bill was not only my Boss but he was a terrific FRIEND. I have never met a person for such a thrust for knowledge like Bill. If he didn’t know the answer he would find it. He taught me so very much. I will miss him greatly. God Bless.

Deepest sympathy from all of us on Waddell Island. What a dreadful shock. We waved to each other as we passed on Cedar Crest Thursday afternoon. Bill was one of the few people that I was ALWAYS happy to see. Bill was the guy you would want at your side when facing any adversity, vastly capable, determined, fair-minded, generous. A true gentleman with a wry sense of humour. I am thankful to have known him.

As a recent widow myself, I understand the pain you are dealing with and what you will face in the coming days. Draw the rest of your family close and take comfort in them. They will help get you through the days ahead. God bless you and God bless Bill. He is missed.

Mosport 2006
One of the best memories I have of Bill was he and I traveled down to Mosport for the American LeMans series, to watch Colin work as a medic around the track. Bill and Nancy had always treated me as one of their own and invited me down every summer year after year and often times on rainy days or days where Colin was wakeboarding with the neighbour, I would end up sitting there talking to Bill watching Trucks, or some other PowerBlock show.
I had no idea the amount of preparation Bill had made for this trip. He borrowed a 25’ 5th wheel trailer, and organized everything. He also put up with my non-stop talking for 4 hours all the way to Bowmanville! Bill was the sort of guy that didn’t say much, but when he did say something, you knew it was going to be accurate, concise and eloquently put. That weekend we were confronted with torrential down poor, and Bill was easily the most popular guy on our campsite, inviting people in to dry off, while we had a great view of the race track. This experience just cemented the already high regard I had for this great man, he was thoughtful enough to facilitate me going and seeing something I otherwise would not have had the means to go see.
Up 3 weeks ago I messaged him discussing a car I had test driven, and he replied with a list of some of the cars he was interested in, then it turned into this full out discussion of which car he should buy next! I am really sad that I don’t have him to talk about cars or anything else for that matter anymore but I feel truly privileged that I got to know him, and he is someone who has made a lasting impression on my life.
