The first time I met Darlene was when I placed foster children at the Desjardine group home. I always appreciated her wisdom, humour and ability to 'tell it like it is'. My condolences to Blair, Rhonda & Randy, her Grandchildren and to the many foster children who called her 'Mom'. She will be missed!

I only knew Darlene for a brief period but during that time I learned from her, enjoyed her humour and her candour. She had an obvious love of life and of her family. It was very evident any time any of you walked into her room. I don't know if this is appropriate for a note of condolence but Darlene told me that I was like a fart on a hot griddle. When I asked her what that meant she said she didn't know but that was what I was. She laughed so hard she almost cried. She faced her illness head on and she was so very brave. I am so sorry for your loss. She will always been in your hearts and minds.
