I can still see that little dark haired girl walking to the ball field with her grampa who brought her to all her t-ball games. I was lucky enough to have her on my team. She was a lovely girl then and remained that way . A quiet beauty with grace. She is now one of the Angels among us!

First and Only Time I Met Hope
I had only met Hope one time in my life and it happened to be at my dear dear Grandfather Delmer Spicer's funeral back in 2005, November 26th. The first thing she said to me was "You have my eyes" and I said "Wow, you have my eyes". We got into a conversation about how we felt that we really didn't look like any body in our family. We were delighted to have met someone that we actually looked like. Hope is much prettier than I could ever hope to be but we did have the same eyes! As we talked, we kept staring right into each other's eyes. We only talked for about 20 minutes or so but I felt that I had just met the warmest person and was so happy to know that I had a relative like her. I live in Toronto and only come to Brockville once or twice a year so I never met Hope again but I have never forgot her. Life is wonderful like that. You just never know that a chance encounter with a relative or even someone you don't know can have an impact on your life. Hope is such an appropriate name. I will always remember that day, November 26th, 2005 that happened to be the worst day of my life. I met a lovely person who had the softest, warmest, most beautiful eyes for me to look into and forget for a moment where I was and that yes, there is hope in this world and things will be alright. I'm so sorry that Hope is gone, you've lost someone very very special. I will never forget her.
