We were very saddened to learn of Sylvia’s recent death, and our thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time. The love of those around her would have been a sustaining source of strength to Sylvia throughout her illness. Sylvia was a sweet and pretty lady who was dealt a blow that was not fair to her, nor to all of you.
A memorial donation will be submitted to the Cancer Unit of the Ottawa Hospital (General Site) for brain cancer research
in Sylvia’s memory.

I have never met any of you and feel it is appropriate to clarify my relationship to Sylvia; Sylvia was my second cousin (genetically really a first cousin). Gladys and my father were double first cousins. Sylvia’s grandmother, Nellie James, was a sister of my Grandfather James. Sylvia’s grandfather, Jim Warren, was a brother of my Grandmother James (Annie Warren).
In recent years, a group of cousins have met for lunch in Perth or Almonte, and Sylvia was part of those gatherings. It was fortunate that we had an opportunity to meet and spend time together as adults. Eleanor Aldus and Sharon Crawford are both my first cousins, and were also part of those get-togethers.
