Harold welcomed me the first day I walked into 615 Booth and while he was there he was always a cheerful and friendly presence. I always enjoyed meeting him whenever I was at 580 Booth and I really sorry to hear that he has gone.

To Mrs. Firlotte and Family,
Harold made fast friends and I got to know more because he would get his coffee, before his shift, at the Tim Horton (Montreal/St-Laurent) where my son worked for awhile - so we talked as I was waiting for the end of my son's shift. Always friendly and interesting to talk to...he will be greatly missed. I work at 580 Booth so not seeing him early mornings is strange.
My prayers are with you at this hard time.

Harold was often the first person I met when I arrived for work at 615 Booth. For many years, Harold ran the front entrance with a friendly efficiency. Always helpfull towards everyone. His passing is a true loss.

Harold’s friendly face greeted me most morning during the years I worked at 615 Booth Street. A chat about our native New Brunswick, or whatever was happening in the building at the time always ended with a laugh. Rest in peace Harold.

It’s been almost a full year since Harold’s sad passing. Even though I spent the majority of my career with the Canadian Hydrographic Service at Industrial Avenue in the east end, I still knew Harold quite well. Once when I was walking along Elgin Street, he recognized me and blew his horn. He certainly left a happy legacy of his years with the Commissionaires.

First Night at Section 6
I'm sure many others can say the same: Harold was there during my first shift as a Commissionaire at NRCan. When I got lost in the basement, Harold was on the radio to talk me through. When I got trapped between the loading dock doors (we all know the ones...), Harold came to let me out, with not a touch of annoyance, but a bit more mirth than I thought was warranted at the time :). He told me everything I needed to know, and then some. He will be remembered and missed by everyone he taught. Cheers, Harold.

Harolds good nature
I have to say that for the last seven years that I have known Harold while working at the Commissionaires, I was blessed with his kindness and willingness to help me and listen to me when I was going through an extremely difficult time in the last two years.
No matter what time of day it was or where he was, Harold was quick to jump for anyone, showing his natural gift to make people smile and help the Corps out of a bind.
Harold had the capability of lighting up the room whenever he entered and has been the talk of NRCan for many years as being a wonderful asset to their team. Many employees have expressed their sadness of his passing and said that he will absolutely be missed.
May you rest in peace and continue you’re work helping those in need and always remember those who loved you.
