I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to Brian's family. Brian was an important part of my 4H career and supported me in my quest to become a 'sheep farmer'. He contributed much to the youth community of Carleton County. May happy memories help to heal your broken hearts.

I'm so sorry to hear of Brians passing. Our deepest sympathy to Lynn and all the Cathcart family.Knowing Brian over the years and being a friend of Pauls led us on some interesting trips to look at exotic birds and other animals, particularly into upper New York state. Anyone knowing what Brian and Paul were like when they were out together can picture some of the comical situations we found ourselves in.
I found Brian to be one of the most sincere and honest people I have ever met and he will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.

I met Brian thirty seven years ago. He was one of the leaders of the Stittsville 4-H club and I was cutting my teeth as the county 4-H co-ordinator with Ontario Agriculture.
I remember him as being a pretty laid back guy that helped make being a 4-H member and a 4-H co-ordinator a happy and fun experience. Great perspective as I look back!
To the family and friends, and especially to Jason who was, as I remember ,just a little guy and to Betty and Doug I would like to extend my most sincere condolences.
I hope your passing was kind to you old friend but it came much too soon.
Sincerely,
Terry Stewart

Great Guy, Grand Neighbor, Good Friend and sadly missed.
I have so many memories of my times with Brian. Most of them center around the 8th Line farm. We spent a lot of time walking in the woods, his, mine and the church property. We certainly cut down a lot of trees and turned them into his winter firewood. He helped me numerous times during many hunting seasons and we fished together on Mississippi Lake.
I am most grateful for his help and guidance to my daughter Sarah and her various animals. I know how proud he was of her when she became Dr. Sarah Logan graduating as a Veterinarian from the University of Guelph.
One of my fondest memories was witnessing Sarah and Brian pondering animal matters; they were leaning against barn posts both biting down on hay sprigs that were hanging out of their mouths. He always listened to her and was an important and influential mentor.
I am sorry that I cannot attend the service but know that we say goodbye with only having the best of memories with our time with Brian.
Mike and family.
