I have only known Lois as a roomate of my friend's mother at Lanark Lodge. She was so gracious and kind to say something pleasant about her roomate to me when I would stop by. Also, she always thanked Roy for his visit. It was almost as if she did not know if she would have another opportunity to tell him how much she appreciated his presence. A wonderful role model for me.

Dear McLaren Family.....
I last saw Lois sitting with Roy as I entered the Lanark Lodge last Thursday. They were seated side by side looking out into the front yard. I spoke to them briefly and saw them again later .....I saw Lois from behind heading into the dining room and I rode the elevator down with Roy and we walked and chatted out to the parking lot. He spoke of taking "Mom" out for a drive that Saturday if it was nice. I saw them again Saturday, sitting side by side in the McDonalds having a bite after their drive. Wow! Sixty four years together, what a blessing for them. Lois loved life and lived each day fully. Loving her husband and her family, loving camping, shopping, gardening, baking and socializing. All that matters in the end is that you loved. The Lord has greeted her saying...."Well done my Faithful Servant".
You are in our thoughts at this time, Heather and David Harry xo

As a nephew of Lois, I have many happy memories of time spent at the McLaren farm. Aunt Lois and Uncle Roy always made us feel welcome, and loved.
We were fortunate (Karen and I) to pay a visit to the lodge last September in Perth and have a very special visit with Aunt Lois and Uncle Roy. Memories to cherish.
From the Lundy family to the McLaren family, we send our condolences and love from Calgary. We wish we could've been there in person to pay our respects.

The more enriched a person makes our lives, the harder it is for us to let them go. For this reason, I know that saying goodbye to your dear mom will be a difficult sorrow to bear. I hope that the wonderful memories you have of her as well as the love and friendship you have around you, will support you through this time. Penny Raabe and family.
