To Janice, Kevin, Shelley, Kerri, Family Members & Friends, Although Joe retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1967, after 13 years of dedicated service to his country, he is still remembered by some of the 'senior' members of our Supplementary Radio (SUPRAD) System Oldtimers Association. Some of the naval personnel who served at HMCS CHURCHILL in the late 1950's still remember what a great friend Joe was to them. Please know that as your extended military family, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. 'Friends Forever'

I was not fortunate to have known Joe for a long time,but even with the dementia he suffered,it was noticable that he was a loving,and respectable man. It was touching to see the connection between Marg and Joe. Rest in peace Joe.

Joe and I served in the navy in the late fifties. We were great friends during that time, and our friendship continued in civy street. My family and I visited North Bay, staying overnight with Joe for the trappers festival, where Kevin taught my son the game of chess. Too many things to recall in the amount of space I have. My Sincere Condolences to Joe and his family. I served with Joe in HMCS Churchill in 1957/1958/1959. Not sure how long Joe was there. He was a great guy and I recall him at one time off a mids shift in the local hotel, assisting me at the correct time from getting into a silly beef with another sailor who wanted to Fight for Fun!! Joe told him how stupid and foolish he was acting and that ended it.. Other sailors respected him and I sure did.. May you rest in peace Joe!! Doug Manion omanion@rogers.com
