Elizabeth, Kathryn, Isabelle, Chris and I, Wendy, were so sad to hear of his passing. We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family.
My daughter summed it up when she said, "I wish I could have seen him one more time to tell him "Thank you, you made a difference to my life." We only knew Murray through Taekwan do but we remember his endless patience, kindness and dedication to the art.

We would like to pass on our deepest condolences. I am happy that Murray is no longer suffering, but he will be deeply missed. Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit are the tenants his Taekwon-Do brothers and sisters all strive to learn and follow throughout our Taekwon-Do careers and translate into our overall lives. When Murray joined Almonte Taekwon-Do, he had already mastered these concepts as he was a polite, warm and giving man. We could all learn so much striving to become half the man he was. He was a great colleague and friend. I am happy to have known him.

Murray (a.k.a. Mr. Murray to his students) was truly one of a kind man! His never-ending resplendent smile and joy for life was always so obvious as well as a great sense of humor. Even when battling this horrible disease, his smile just never wavered. Both our daughters tremendously enjoyed him as their Taekwon-Do teacher since their Little Tigers years and always looked up to him. They were extremely saddened by the news of his passing and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Our most sincere condolences to his beautiful wife Sharon and all of his family and friends and students who loved him. Rest in Peace Murray. The Dojang simply will not be the same without you... The Heapy Family Brigitte, Darryl, Sam (Sammy) & Meg (Meghan Meister) Taekwon!

I'd like extend condolences on behalf of our family. Murray was a welcome inspiration from the first trial class my son and I had at Almonte TKD. It was our pleasure to have known him and been taught by him for the short time since we met him. His dedication and spirit will be very much missed.

Murray was a great friend and co-worker at National Defence. So many of us, myself included, are very saddened to hear of Murray's passing. Personally, I miss him. He was a lot of fun to work with. One of my greatest memories with Murray occured when I had my young son with me at the office xmas party. He had received a model car and was having difficulty assembling it. In stepped Murray and patiently, and so kindly, helped my son, I just stood watching him with such admiration. I will never forget that moment and I will never forget Murray. Sincerely, Karen Black

I've had the pleasure of knowing Murray for 12 Years by working for and with him at DND. In that time we became like family. Murray helped me through the worst times in my life. He was the kindest, gentle, loving and funny person I have ever met. We lost An Angel on earth but gained one In heaven. Murray spoke so fondly of his family, you were his world. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful man, loved by many, missed by all. Rest in peace my dear friend.

There are no words to express our sadness at Murray's passing. We hold so many wonderful memories of him in our hearts. He played such a pivotal role in our Taekwondo journeys. Always patient and soft spoken yet able to get his point across. Loyal and dedicated, he has taught countless children and adults who in turn will someday teach others and pass along his knowledge and passion; this will be his legacy. It was an honour and privilege to know Murray. May your happy memories see you through this difficult time.

Dear Sharon, Shari and Colin,
Most sincere condolences and our deepest sympathy are extended to you at this time of loss and grief.
You all know what Murray meant to me, as both my best friend and dear colleague. I am richer and fuller in my life to having known Murray.,and was honoured that he trusted me to lead him along his martial arts journey towards his black belt in Taekwon-Do.
He touched countless students with his can-do attitude and winning and warm smile. He was always there to help - this was Murray -a good man always willing to give of his time.
Other fond memories include sailing together on HMCS Saguenay back in the navy, playing lots of guitar and music together, and sharing a few good laughs over A few rums and 'tab'.
Rest in peace my dear friend. I miss you and I look forward to playing a few tunes with you again someday.
Wishing you fair winds and following seas my friend.

Having trained with Murray for many years at Taekwon DO he was an easy man to become friends with. Always a warm smile and encouraging words was Murray's style. We spent a few nights enjoying his and Sharron's company at a friends house sharing a bite and a drink listening to Murray play guitar and singing with his good friend Ralph Marin. Murray had an amazing memory to recall old songs and current tunes as he captured your attention with his low singing voice. Not having the presence of mind to have recorded it we will miss hearing his deep friendly voice. Our deepest condolences to Sharron and family. We will miss Murray immensely.

So sorry for your loss Sharon & Family and Marjorie & Whitworth Family. Murray Whitworth left us too soon he was the kind of man that loved to be with his family in Smiths Falls and Hamilton. My favorite memories of Murray is when he and Sharon came to my karaoke birthday party and sang Your My Best Friend by Don Williams and he gave me one of his fishing poles to me. My heart is so broken all of the people that I care for are all leaving me behind. Murray will always be in my heart with your family and my family love June

Dear Sharon, Colin, and Shari. I worked for Murray from 1984 until 1992 at DND. He's the best boss I ever had while also being a good friend. The reason I am writing this condolence two years too late. Is that I have not worked in DND for some time, and did not know what has happened. My apologies. This is sad, and I express my sincerest sympathies. Respectfully, Frank Richardson

I remember Murray, when he was first posted to the Commissioning Crew of HMCS Preserver @ Saint John Shipbuilding & Drydock in the early 1970's. Always wondered what happened to him and have just located his obituary in the Naval records of "For Posterity's Sake" (In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar")

Friend
I was learning taekwondo in almonte and Mr. Murray as I called him was someone who I looked up to and could trust and depend on him if I ever needed help or just simply needed someone to talk to. I remember in my early school years I was raising money by selling chocolate bars and Mr. Murray would buy a chocolate bar every time I was at taekwondo
and he would always get the same kind of chocolate bar everytime although he tried a different kind one day and then the next day he switched right back to the old kind. He said "thank you" to me everytime and when I found out that he had passed away I was heart broken and I had lost a great friend on that day he is truly someone I am going to miss a lot and shall my deepest condolences go to his family and friends.
