Richard, I'm saddened to learn of your mother's passing. I lost my Mom a couple of weeks ago and it certainly leaves an empty spot. I recall visiting your home on Hwy 511 when we were both much younger and both in Cubs. I'm certain you will have many fond memories to help you through this difficult time. Take care. Stephen

My sympathy to all of Mary's family.
I shall miss her presence here at the Wedgewood. She was happy here and passed that along to others. She was curious and liked to know what was happening around her . On days we went to the hairdresser we would take that little drive around the park to check on any new developments and we would share a laugh.I am happy to think she was my friend. Pauline Mccrum

Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. Your Mother/Grandmother was a lovely, friendly, pleasant Lady, we had a few occasions to visit with her and always came away feeling she was glad to have seen us again. We last seen her at Melissa and Scott's wedding as their pictures were being taken, something she had a hand in arranging. We hope you fine comfort in knowing she will be missed by everyone she touched in her life warmest regards, George and Elaine.

Mary Louise Stanton was my Aunt. When I was a very young girl (Lynn Johnson then) my family visited Aunt Mary and Uncle Albert, and my cousins John and Richard - Julie-Ann was not yet born - at their cottage on the Rideau. A wonderful day of playing with my cousins on the dock until I somehow got a huge slpinter in my foot. Back then the dock was made of wood. It must have been a terrible splinter as every adult there was very very concerned. I saw this and of course was even more scared than I had been. I was laid on the picnic table, Aunt Mary produced a large pin which was sterilized with a match or a lighter and while I don't remember who dug the wood out of my foot I DO remember that it was Aunt Mary who held me down at the shoulders and talked to me until the lengthy process was completed and all the wood had been removed. Because of her talking to me I was able to lie still and not disturb the process. I have never forgotten her face above me, and how calm she seemed. I have thanked her for that every time I have thought of that day. Such kind words in such a steady voice - she made a lengthy and painful process not only possible but bearable for a little girl. A very kind lady.

Mary was the "Matriarch" of the R 15 road at Rideau Lake. She would stop in for a visit at least once a week and have a chat. We'd go over and visit her at her place and have a coffee and of course, a chat. Mary was so good to all 3 of our sons - Ted - Dan - Tim. She hired them to do the grass cutting, piling wood, painting, planting flowers etc. and paid them WAY above the going rate. She was like a special "Grandma" to them and in her eyes, those lads did no wrong. Thank you Mary, from our saddend hearts, for being the most loving, caring, generous person. We are proud to call you "FRIEND". In our hearts and memories until we meet again - in Heaven. Huge hugs xoxoxoxo
