Wenna - I was saddened to hear of Joanne's sudden passing. All I can say is, she was where she loved to be - at the cottage, and Ih ope this gives you some comfort. She did not have a lingering illness, and we are all grateful. Growing older is not easy, and she was able to maintain her home and cottage right to the end. I have so many memories of our growing up together in Montreal. She was on Victoria and Shirley Midgley and I were on Grosvenor. Especially I remember the winter we all went to dancing classes at Miss Edward's School of Deportment and Dance!!!!!! I haven't seen her much in recent years as my husband is no longer able to travel, and we no longer go through Perth to visit our son in Calabogie. However we always corresponded at Christmas time. My thoughts and praers are with you and Jonathon at this difficult time.

Dear Wenna,
We were very sad to read of your mother's death. She was very good to bring a large number of cousins together at her cottage. We enjoyed being able to attend these a few times and meeting several cousins that I didn't know. My father , Gordon Wood, and your grandmother were first cousins.
I'm sorry we will not be able to attend the service tomorrow but our thoughts will be with you.

Wenna, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I had talked to Joanne a few months ago and always enjoyed keeping up with her news of you. I remember the wonderful party she had at the cottage a few years ago. She brought together all the old Christie Lake people.
I am still at Lanark Lodge, if you would ever like to talk. Fran and Gayle are still in the area so they still get me out occasionally. We had driven past your cottage awhile back and talked about the Stiles and Hicks.
I will miss Joanne and our lively chats on the phone. She was such a wonderful person.

Dear Wenna, I met you a few years ago at the Christie Lake Party at your cottage. I want to send you my condolences on the loss of your mum. Joanne was such a great person. I have chatted with her a few times this past year. I would chat, then hand the phone to my mum. They would have great chats. I am sorry that we missed the funeral. Dear Wenna, We were very sad to read of your mother's death. She was very good to bring a large number of cousins together at her cottage. My late father, Larry Bland. was a dear friend of Joanne's,as they spent much time together growing up at Christie Lake. Many family members up the road at Ottawa Point continued to stay in touch with Joanne each summer. My husband Kevin and I were very sorry to hear of Joanne's passing, unfortunately we were away at the time. Our sincere condolences to her family.
