Dear Mrs. Kerr and family, In the 1970's I was a member of Mr. Kerr's editorial staff in the Inland Waters Directorate at Environment Canada. I remember he was a good story teller and learned about his schooling in Ireland, his work with the Irish Land Survey, and his career in the RAF. As a manager he set a fine example and as a person, he was a true gentleman. My heartfelt sympathy. Jeanne Andrews

Irene: Please accept my sincere condolences in the passing of George. His passing is one year, to the day, after my mom died. Mom always valued your friendship and thought George was so kind and patient to wait while you and she visited. I will be thinking of you, especially tomorrow (Wednesday). Irene, we were very sorry to read of George's passing. I am still using the pewtersmithing tools I got from him years ago, along with Doug's. As you probably realize, we passed George's obituary on to Chrissie. Our thoughts are with you.

Today I watched a programme on the Lancaster and was thinking of George (who was my first boss in the Canadian Public Service). How I loved working for him and enjoyed the stories he shared. Dear Irene and Brian, I have many memories of being at your home on Camelia avenue in the 1950's and being in complete awe of George's piano prowess. I even took lessons in the hope of sounding like he did - to no avail! Even after you moved to Farmington avenue, I could occasionally hear George playing the piano from my friend Emma's home right next door to yours. Irene, Polly always considered you and George to be among her dearest friends. She would have been there with you today if she was still with us. John and I send you our condolences on this difficult day. Erin
