I will make sure to tell my sons how their Great-Aunt joined Facebook at the age of 81 so she could see their pictures online and watch them grow despite the distance between Smiths Falls and Welland. I looked forward to the daily notifications on Facebook that Eileen had "liked" every single one of the pictures that I posted of the boys. I'll miss that. When the boys are big enough to wear the matching cookie monster sweaters and car suits she made for them I'll think of her and make sure to take lots of pictures to include in their baby books in memory of Chucha.
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this time. I'll be thinking of you all on Monday.

Fond memories of being partners while learning folk dances for the concerts at the Ukranian Hall in Kingston, where Eileen patienty helped guide my big feet through the intricate steps and away from her own.
The memories of the wonderful times with our families as they shared the traditional foods at the house parties and picnics will stay with me as well.

During this sad time my thoughts go back many years to a time before kids and grandkids when Eileen and Lionel were simply Auntie Eileen and Uncle Lionel and the good times we shared in Kingston, Orillia and Stayner at Christmas and other special holidays. One has to wonder at how fast time passes by and how at the end of the day we must say goodbye...for a while...to those we love. Rest in peace "Auntie Eileen" until we meet again.

Lovely Lady

Eileen was a lovely lady who raised an exceptional daughter and son. She was first and foremost a loving wife for almost 60 years to Lionel and a wonderful grandmother to her 5 grandchildren and a great mother-in-law to our son.</p>
<p>
We didn't have a long relationship but the few years that we have known each other have been special. She will always be remembered with fondness and love and we will never forget the great pies that she baked.</p>
