Obituary of Kaye Stead
Kathleen (Kaye) Stead
Our mother succumbed to a stroke on July 5th and passed away peacefully in her 90th year. She was the widow of Frank Stead, who predeceased her in 2001. She was also predeceased by her parents Stanley and Nora Rodger, her sister Lorna, son-in-law George Ennis, and grandson-in-law Christopher Dillon. Left to mourn her loss are her children Rodney (Sharon) Stead, Ruth (Earl) Johnson, Karen (Late George) Ennis, Kerry (Joanne) Stead, her grandchildren Lynne (late Christopher) Dillon, Sarah (Adam) MacDonald, and Robbie (Ashley) Stead; Martin (Estelle) and Andrew (Kim) Ennis; and Christopher and Craig Stead; and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Somerville. Kaye lived her entire life in the Middleville/Lanark area where she grew up and where she and Frank worked a dairy farm near Middleville. She was active in the Lanark Baptist Church and in her community. Her values were rooted in her Christian faith and church, love of family, and service to community. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. West, Perth, Friday July 8th, 2016 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 P.M. The Funeral service will be held in the First Baptist Church in Lanark, Saturday at 10:00 A.M. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Middleville, Ontario. In remembrance contributions to the First Baptist Church, Lanark, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be appreciated.
