Best, Stanley W. Peacefully in hospital, Smiths Falls, on Thursday, February 19, 2009, Stanley William Best in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Myrtle (Griffith) Best. Loved father of Frances (Bruce) Strader of Smiths Falls, Joan Gall of Toronto, Ken (Carol) Best of Norwood and Allen (Carol) Best of Fort Frances. Dear grandfather of Bradley (Carrie) and Stacey Gall (Adam Hunt), Hilary (Blair) Machan and Philip Strader (Melissa Hunt), Victoria and Chris (Gretel) Best and Margaret Ann (Brian) Armstrong. Also survived by nine great-grandchildren. Brother of Jessie Desalvo of Smiths Falls and the late Caroline Irvine and Ira Best. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls, on Saturday February 21st from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 2 P.M. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery. In remembrance, donations to the Smiths Falls Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. A Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 6:45 p.m.
