I knew Rhoda from the library in Sutton (she was president & a wonderful person to collaborate with), and I remember the year that she moved to Perth, and how happy she was for a new adventure! She had a wonderful spirit and smile. Her willingness to pitch in to do something for her community, especially when it benefitted families in the town -- always infectious. All the best to the family from the Eastern Townships.

I said a prayer today that God would touch you with his healing hand and give you peace & comfort in your minds and in your hearts. Rhoda was a dear friend, she was a special lady, she has left us with many memories of laughter and fun times. Rhoda, had a wonderful spirit, although quiet, she had spunk! and enjoyed a good laugh. She never spoke wrong of anyone, however, she made her point known. We enjoyed many late night visits in the hall after the apt. had gone to bed, socializing with our cats. We have so many memories, we were blessed to have known Rhoda and we will miss her always. Love, Liz & John

Rhoda was a petite woman with a huge heart whom you felt from the start had such warmth and compassion and you would instantly feel comfortable with her. She loved her view of the Tay, her visits from hummingbirds to her balcony and loved to read a good book also from the same balcony. I will miss her very much.

I was deeply saddened to hear Rhoda had passed. She often came into our store for sewing supplies or other needs. I knew her well through having had Walter as my high school teacher and later as principal of Sutton School when my children first started school. Walter and I also served a term on Town Council together. I always enjoyed Rhoda's sunny personality. Her smile would melt into laughter bringing happiness to all she met. She always contributed her wonderful coleslaw to our United Church suppers and the BBQ. She'd bring us the biggest bowl of slaw and it was always so tasty. She was fun to be around. Christmases in July <p> I'll remember Aunt Rhoda with great fondness until the end of my days. Some of my favourite memories are of gatherings at her and Uncle Wally's home in July to celebrate a summer version of Christmas. Friends and relatives everywhere, food, pets, activity, conversations, laughter, neighbours dropping by, an overall feeling of goodwill and welcoming. For me, those times epitomized Aunt Rhoda’s qualities. I’m grateful to have known her.</p>
