To the lucky seven from the Garnie and Rose we have lost a truly great man, father, grand father and great grandfather and one of the greatest friends a person could ever have. He has shown so much love and care to both of us that we will never forget, He was like a second father to Garnet and taught him a lot about life in general. Someone that never judged but only helped a lot along the way. Forever in our hearts and prayers we will miss him greatly. Big hugs and love to everyone. Garnie and Rose

Carol and and the rest of The Lucky Seven It is with great sadness that we are hearing of Ken's passing. Being a second cousin, he was just like family. Over the past few years we have spent many a fun time with yourself and Ken in Smiths Falls, here in Brockville at home and also once he took up residence at Rosedale. He always had a cheerful story to tell and we always loved spending time playing cards with him. We will surely miss him.

Memories of a great Uncle

There are those that shape your life and Uncle Ken is one who help shape mine. The person that most influences you is always going to be a part of your life. I'm so fortunate to have had someone like Uncle Ken show me respect for not only others but myself. He helped me understand responsibility and the value that came with it. Not everyone could have benefited from his words or sometimes lack of and it was that lack of, that made me think before I made a mistake, and on the farm a mistake could cause you a lot of pain and I'm sure we all know what that meant. Although he had a gruffness in his voice you felt the softness of his heart. Both Aunt Jean and Uncle Ken contributed to the person that I became and in so many ways their influence helped me to survive in times that otherwise I would have struggled with. Memories of being on the farm and doing the chores with Uncle Ken and the boys are memories I have cherished for many years and will continue to for many more.

I can remember cousins who would also be on the farm when the harvest was on and that is when all the learning, hard work and play/fun would start. You had a responsibility to your work even if you played a little hard. Uncle Ken never said a word about events of the evening before other than, " let's get at it - no time to whine about your condition, whatever it might be." You would work off of the strength that he had and keep going until the job was done. He was a man that guided so many lives along the way with Aunt Jean by his side. I will forever miss and remember him. You are an amazing man, Uncle Ken.

Forever
