In the 1960s, Wilhelmina was assistant head nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal while I was a student nurse there.
We were often on the same Friday night train back to Smiths Falls and would share a taxi as we lived in the same part of town.
Without fail, Wilhelmina insisted on paying for the taxi.
Running into Wilhelmina on visits home was always a happy occasion for a chat.
