Obituary of Fraser John Scobel

Scobel, Fraser John "Bear" Fraser passed away suddenly at home from heart failure on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Fraser was born on June 5, 1959 in Germany while his father served in the Canadian Forces. His favourite places he lived in were Boysdale Camp, Alberta; Gander, Newfoundland; Belleville, Ontario; Yellowknife, NWT and most recently in Smiths Falls. In his 58 years Fraser traveled, worked and played hard, had many interesting adventures and made friends all along the way. He worked as a bouncer, an airport dispatcher and became a master electrician. He had a zest for experiencing life and a deep respect and compassion for all things living. He loved the outdoors, fishing, golf, music, taking pictures, socializing, deep conversations, road trips by motorcycle, all animals especially dogs, all sports, notably the Patriots and forever the Bruins. Fraser’s presence, his laughter and stories made you feel connected and alive. He will always be remembered as a fiercely loyal friend, a gifted artist and poet with a heart of gold. We will all miss him deeply. May Fraser’s laughter and spirit stay in your heart forever. He is predeceased by his dad Frank, his mom Rose, brothers Bruce and Darcy and sister Reta.
