Hello everyone...I'm so sorry to hear about Aunt Monica. She was a fine lady...When Tom and I visited Smith Falls several years ago (lovely place by the way) we stayed with her on Mary St and she cooked for us!
When Tom passed away I can still remember her walking into the funeral home! Amazed that she took the time to make that trip...

Her thoughtfulness
A few years ago Mrs. Meagher was going in for surgery. The day before she was to be operated on my phone rang and lo and behold she was calling me. As per usual she asked me how I was doing and how Lisa was doing and the boys. She went on to explain the surgery that she was having and wanted to talk to me just in case she did not make it through the surgery. As per usual she was matter-of-fact about things and very much peace either way. She would always talk about how our relationship with Steve and Sheila begin so many years ago. She loves sports and shared her memories of the old St. Louis Cardinals and Montral Canadiens. She had so many good memories and so vividly was able to take you back to those days that you can only read about.
We talked for 10 or 15 minutes and towards the end of the conversation she indicated that the doctor said told her that at best she had a 50-50 chance of survival. Now I do place bets every now and again and Im not very successful at it but I told her, and this bet I was certain of, that my money was on her. Sure enough she came through the operation flying colours!
Now as you can imagine how humbling it was to know that given all she had ahead of her She took the time to think of us and our situation.
She will always be in our hearts!
