Edwards, Richard Alexander 1940 - 2009 Passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital – Garden Street Site with his wife by his side on Wednesday, October 28th, 2009, Richard Alexander Edwards at the age of 69. Loving husband and best friend of Verna Belle (Benson) Brisebois. Richard, or for many of his friends who fondly knew him as Rick or Dick, was predeceased by his first wife Brenda Rose (McParlan) Edwards. Also predeceased by his parents George and Marjorie (Webb) Edwards. He will be sadly missed by his brothers Grant (Peggy) of Cornwall, Gary (Sandy) of Smiths Falls and Ralph (Caroll) of Ottawa. Richard was also the loving stepfather of Lisa (Barry) Gollom and step grandfather of Aliya and Grace Gollom all of Toronto and loving stepfather of Jason Brisebois of CFB Petawawa (Afghanistan Mission). He will be fondly remembered by his 8 nieces and 5 nephews, the Edwards, McParlan and Brisebois families and many good friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith Street, N., Smiths Falls on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Hillcrest Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Blair & Son Reception Centre following the interment. In remembrance, contributions to the Brockville and District Hospice Palliative Care Service or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatfully acknowledged.
