Dear Gary and Anne, Greg and Pat, Steve and Shelley and families,
Our sympathies on the passing of your mom, Ethel. I remember working with her at Dairy Queen many years ago. She was always friendly and pleasant when I met her with her sister Marg. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am a weekly volunteer at Lanark Lodge, and will always cherish the memories of my time chatting with Ethel. What a sweet lady. She was always cheerful, and interested in all that was going on. And what a sense of humour. I will truly miss her.
Please accept my sincere condolences at this very sad and difficult time.
Sincerely,
Ann Webster

For Ethel Charles, Still and Always. I am sure you do not remember me. So many years ago, every pay day I brought my cheque to the bank to be deposited. I always waited in line, let others go ahead, until you became available. Except for banking business, we did not have a lot of dialogue. But your SMILE and kind manner spoke volumes to me. I left the bank always feeling refreshed. Then you retired. Sometime later, by chance, I saw you on Parkdale Ave. "You are Ethel Charles," i said. "Yes I am." Our conversation was cordial thought brief, after all, I was a stranger. But you were pleased that a stranger, a former customer, still remembered you. Some good-byes are not easy. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Charles. Still and Always, G. T.

Dear Gary & Anne, Greg & all Ethel's family, Although Doug knew Ethel from Perth, I only got to know her in Toronto. It was a pleasure to go to the bank & be able to chat with someone from Perth. We had many lovely visits over the years. Our condolences to all of Ethel's family. Doug & Judy Palmer

To Ethel's dear family: I lived at Ethel's house on Glascott St. while attending Perth Collegiate. Two beautiful little blonde sons, namely Gary & Greg lived there too. Fond memories of those years, and Ethel was always so accommodating, and interested in my well being. We have always kept in touch, and I always admired her courage, resourcefulness, wit and such a beautiful smile. As I am leaving for a vacation with my family in the Muskokas, I will not be attending her funeral. I send my love and sincere sympathy to all of you. Death leaves a heartache no on can heal. Love leaves memories no one can steal. A wonderful cousin and friend. Peace to you. Shirley Warr
