McKay, Walter H. Walter passed away at the Rideau Ferry Country Home on Friday July 27th, 2018 at the age of 94 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 72 years, Evelyn (Pretty) McKay, his parents James R. and Margaret (Burns) McKay, daughter Brenda Crawford and his brothers Leonard (Lenora) and Allie (Margaret) McKay. Left to mourn the loss of a loved and respected father are Bob (Lois) McKay, Audrey (late Brian) Acres, Donna (Mark) Hall and son-in-law Francis Crawford. Walter will be sadly missed by 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, all his nieces, nephews, family and many friends. For most of Walter’s life he lived at his farm in Hopetown. He loved the outdoors and was a founding member of the Pretty & McKay Hunt Club, a member of Trinity United Church as well as a journeyman sheet metal worker, loving neighbour and friend. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St., West Perth Wednesday August 1st, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in the chapel Thursday at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Middleville will be followed by a reception in the Middleville Hall. In honour of Walter’s life, those wishing are asked to consider memorial donations to Trinity United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
