Hannah, David George David passed away in hospital, Perth on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the age of 86. Loved father of Dan Hannah and Kim Hannah (Stephen Tymchuk). Step-father of Mike Bender (Karen) and the late Peter Paquette. Dear brother of Bill (Julie) Hannah and Joan (the late Carl) Johansen. David was predeceased by his parents David and Anne Hannah and brother John Hannah. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. David was born and grew up in the Toronto area and following school joined a pharmaceutical and drug store wholesaling company travelling across vast territories in the Toronto area visiting drug stores. The lure of country living along with the opening of the Ottawa branch David, his first wife Frances and family moved from Toronto to Navan where he travelled throughout Eastern Ontario with the company and following a time was promoted to management. Upon retirement, David and his second wife Ellie moved to Bass Lake and converted the summer family cottage to a permanent home. He enjoyed volunteering with the Navan Grads Junior B hockey team when living in Navan, bartending at the Smiths Falls RCAF Hall to raise money for the local air cadets, spending time outdoors enjoying nature and line dancing with friends. David loved to build and renovate homes, plumbing, electrical work and other trades. He was very civic minded and enjoyed helping others. David will be sadly missed and forever loved by all who knew him. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by service in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Interment, Hillcrest Cemetery. In memory of David, donations may be made to the Smiths Falls Air Cadets or the Great War Memorial Hospital Foundation, Perth.
