My sincere condolences on the loss of your wonderful father. I worked for him in the Deans Office at Guelph. We had some great times together, shared dinners with your beloved mother and I will never forget them. It was just a month ago we chatted via email and he had sent me his new address. May he Rest In Peace. I’m sorry I’m so far away or I would be there for the service. Sincerely, Toni

Please accept my sincere condolences and deep sympathy on the death of Bruce. He was a close colleague and my friend at the University of Guelph. He was a fine scientist, an able administrator, and a real academic leader. I had the greatest respect for his sound judgement, high integrity, and thoughtful contributions. The development of molecular biology programs at Guelph owes much to his hard work and fine leadership.

Dear Valerie, Jennifer, Monica, David, Lisa, and families. Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of Bruce. I always looked forward to my chats with Bruce either at the Perth Probus Club or at the Perth Pool. He was a fascinating man with an amazing history in Canada, Europe and the U.S. His perspective on a wide variety of things was always thoughtful and interesting. I regret that I hadn't known him longer. I wish Val and his entire family every strength in dealing with your loss.

I'm sorry to see the news about Bruce's death.
He was Dean when I joined the University of Guelph as a Faculty member in 1987. Being a Dean can sometimes be a challenging job and I continue to appreciate all the efforts he made on behalf of the College of Biological Sciences and its staff and students.

Dear Valerie,Jennifer, Monica, David, Lisa and family members
Bishnupriya and I express our deepest condolence for the passing of my beloved mentor, friend and a long time colleague Dr. Bruce H Sells. We have known Bruce for over 40 years and shared our research interests. He was a great scholar, a kind mentor and a generous human being. We are glad that Bishnupriya and I was able to visit him in Perth two years ago and met Valerie. Bruce and Bernice were very special people to us and we will miss them both dearly. During our time with Bruce’s family in St.John’s, Newfoundland we became a member of his extended family which included all his post-doctoral fellows and graduate students. This bond was so strong that most people who worked with him during this period (1976-1983) still maintained contact with him. I joined his department in Guelph in 1985 and enjoyed working with him as the Dean of our college. Professionally he was fair, decisive and a creative administrator.

Received news of Bruce’s death with sorrow. He served on the BoD for ASLLG for a number of years and that is how I came to know him. He was a thoughtful man and someone I had great fondness for. We had some wonderful chats about a variety of subjects and had missed seeing him over the past few years. Your Dad was a wonderful guy with a lot of wisdom.
