My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Uncle Wally was like a Dad to me. Always there whenever I needed him. He took me for my first haircut and went to Father-Son events with me. I will miss him deeply. He will always be with all of us. He touched so many lives with his generosity and his humor. Love you, Uncle Wally.

Uncle "Daddy" as I called him. He was a very special man, kind, generous and loving. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could always make me laugh. He loved his family very much and it showed in his eyes and actions. My heart goes out to you Nanny, his loving wife (my Aunt), he loved you so much and always wanted the best for you. To his 3 beautiful daughters (my cousins), he was so very proud of you all and loved you all unconditionally. Craig, he was happy to have you as his son-in-law! Aidan and Keira, he glowed around you both! He will be missed a lot!
I love you Uncle Wally xoxo

Dear Teresa and family -
Despite the distance, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. You spoke often about your father, worried about him, including during your recent travels to Indonesia. Do you remember when we were in Yogjakarta and we heard reports of a volcanic eruption far away from where we were? You knew your father would be concerned so you asked me to send your parents an email to inform we were ok; that we were no where near the danger zone. Your Mom soon replied to thank us for the note and confirmed that your Dad had seen the news reports and was quite worried. I know you will celebrate with pride your father's life, which I hope will help in the grieving process. Prends-soin, Teresa, je pense à toi et on s'appelle lorsque tu auras un peu de temps.
Avec amitié

Chris Connolly posted a condolence
Dear Teresa and family,
My thoughts will be with all of you during this very trying time. I hope that the following passage will bring to you the comfort which it has often brought to me. It was first delivered in 1910 as a Catholic sermon by the Canon of St. Paul’s Cathedral named Henry Scott Holland--but its sentiment, I think, is universal:
"I suppose all of us hover between two ways of regarding death, which appear to be in hopeless contradiction with each other. First there is the familiar and instinctive recoil from it as embodying the supreme and irrevocable disaster...
"But, then, there is another aspect altogether which death can wear for us. It is that which first comes to us, perhaps, as we look down upon the quiet face, so cold and white, of one who has been very near and dear to us. There it lies in possession of its own secret. It knows it all. So we seem to feel. And what the face says in its sweet silence to us as a last message from one whom we loved is:
" ’Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well.' "

Nadia, Andrea, Teresa and Vanessa,
I know there are no words to make it heal faster, but, eventually time does heal. When I lost my Dad 11 months ago, I thought my heart would never heal but very slowly it is healing. I still miss him so much.
Wally was a fantastic husband, father, Didi, brother, Uncle and brother-in-law, someone you could always count on. He gave of himself without asking anything in return. The last time I saw him, was at Jessica and Julia's christening and he looked so happy and calm. Like my Dad I always thought that he would be there forever, he was always there for us, just like your Dad was always there for you.
I just wanted to share this with you and know that I still consider you guys as my family.
I love you, Wally, and I love you all!!!
R.I.P. My dearest brother-in-law!!!

Dearest Nadia and my dear cousins Andrea,Craig,Teresa and Vanessa, On a beautiful sunny afternoon in November last year, I was lucky enough to be present at a family memorial luncheon with cousins I had not seen in awhile. By chance, a seat was saved for me right next to Wally and Nadia and from the moment I sat down I felt the warmth and relief of being with truly loving people. At one point I had to tell them both how great and happy they looked and how great it was to see a couple so much in love. That love not only served them well in their marriage but it is the greatest gift that they could have passed onto their children and grandchildren. The final words sung in the musical Les Miz are"To love another person is to see the face of God". Today he stands in heaven looking over you all continuing his promise as a loving husband and father. God Bless you all and may the warmth of his soul be always by your side. Your cousin Peter Zinko
