Bruce Alexander Gordon Peacefully at Perth Hospital Friday April 8th, 2011 in his 75th year with family at his side. Beloved husband to Marlene Gordon. Loving father to his children Gaelen Gordon (Bijoy Bora), Grant Gordon (Ellen Atack), Dougall Gordon (Kim Brambrough) and step children Gabrielle Earnshaw (Don Willms), Christine Earnshaw (Christophe Osler) and Heidi Earnshaw(Steve Crilly). Generous grandfather to Iain, Andrew, Cliona, Braedon, Ainsley, Chloe and Malcolm. Fond brother to his sister Joan Campbell. Predeceased by his brother Ney, first wife Katrina, daughter Claney and grandson Heiko. Born January 20th, 1937 in Montreal, he attended Ridley College and later McGill University, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1958. His career began at Dean Witter International in Montreal where he quickly rose to President and Principal of Dean Witter Canada in Toronto. He became Vice President of Dean Witter Reynolds Canada upon merger with Reynolds Securities and remained with the firm until retirement in 1990. In his later years Bruce actively served his community as an honored Rotarian and thoroughly enjoyed life sailing and cruising with friends and family in Georgian Bay, the Niagara and Thousand Islands regions, playing with his much loved dog Caila, gardening, cooking and traveling widely. Grandpa BigHat’s exuberant joie de vivre will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family will privately celebrate Bruce's life in Ste. Agathe, a place that always touched his heart, later in the summer
