Hughes, Robert E. Passed away peacefully in hospital, Smiths Falls on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the age of 81. Dearly beloved husband and best friend of Beryl (Taylor). Loving father of Stephen (Arlene) of Victoria, BC and Kim (predeceased 2008). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jessica, Sarah, Christine, Jenny, Sam and Tyler; as well as his brother Alfie (Yvonne) of Guelph, and his sisters Eileen and Carole, both of Montreal. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Friends are welcome to join the family for Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend a reception which will take place following the mass, at the Blair & Son Funeral Home Reception Centre located at 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
