Dear Ruth and Family,
Steve and I were shocked and sadden to have just heard of Bob's passing after talking with Norma Burns.
We regret not being there in person to pass on our condolences. Bob was very special to Henry and Amy and us as you and your family are!
It is never easy to accept the passing of a loved one especially after being together for over 60 years! Bob really touched a lot of people in a positive way with his friendly, calm, and gentle manner, as I witnessed on many occassions while at the pool! He really will be missed.
Ruth, I will contact you in a little while to arrange to get together. I miss seeing you since I am not at the pool.

remembering a favourite patron
I always looked forward to Bob and Ruth coming in for lunch at Peters Restaurant. Bob always had a funny tidbit to share with me -- he always used to say " Oh your good looking and a great cook" in his wonderful Irish/Scottish accent. He brightened my day and had a good chuckle. His great outlook on life and people, his wide smile and quick wit will be sadly missed.

We were blessed to know Bob
I met Bob and Ruth at church at the Asbury Free Methodist Church. What a lovely couple!!!! I feel so grateful to have met such a man for he was always smiling and saying a kind word to cheer your day. His faith was like no other man I have ever met - he radiated Gods love. I truly feel blessed and so fortunate to meet and get to know Bob. I am very sad that he has passed but I know I will be with again. I didn't get to know Bob until the later part of his life but I will remember him always.

Perth Swimming pool memories
Bob will aways be remembered for his great sense of humour and upbeat personality. When he was swimming at the Perth pool, Bob always made a comment, "aren't we a great, good looking bunch!" Now, Bob is enjoying swimming with the angels.
