Hello Phyllis... We have never met your family as we lived away for decades, but we have kept up-to-date on happenings around McDonald's Corners including you and your family. We have heard many good things about both you and Derrill and of course have had frequent reports during Derrill's illness. In spite of the intense sorrow of losing a loved one, we can have some assurance that he is no longer suffering, and now at peace. Please accept our sincere condolences Phyllis. You are all in our prayers. Bob and Deanna

Steve Duke posted a condolence
It is with great sadness that I learn of the death of Derrill I had known him from the start of my career with St. Lawrence Ambulance in 1989. I truly treasured working there and Derrill was large part of marking St. Lawrence an enjoyable place to work. I still remember Derrill’s contained frustration trying to restrain a bunch of uninterested paramedics during our W.H.M.I.S. training. Derrill you will be missed by all who knew you. -Steve Duke

My old friend Derrill, I will miss your jokes and companionship. I remember when I was in high school you would always let me and others stand inside to get away from the cold weather. There was always something we could shoot the breese about and you're laid back attitude made you the perfect person to listen to someones story. I enjoyed the laughs and all the kind things Phyllis and you would do for me and the fam. You will be missed, it's going to be awful wierd coming into the store in the morning and not seeing you brewing the coffee. Thanks for being such a good friend. May you rest in peace.
