I offer the condolence of First Baptist Church in Listowel. It was our church that walked with Don through the process of ordination and to be the congregation that set him aside for ministry. We have a special place in our heart for you all. Don is home with the one he served so well. Praise God!

I am so very sorry for you loss. I did not know the Reverend personally, but I did attend the Annual Local Government Lunch provided to Town Staff and hosted by the First Baptist Church which I understand he organized. I appreciate that he recognized the often thankless job (and worse criticism) local government faces. He has touched many people through this one initiative. God bless.

We want to thank God that Don is now out of pain and with our Lord and Saviour! Tricia and girls we pray God will wrap His arms around you and give your peace at this very painful time. Don opened his arms and heart to us when we visited First Baptist Listowel for the first time and we have never forgotten this. We will miss Don very much but we are happy he is with Jesus.

He will be much missed by the members of First Baptist Church, Smiths Falls, by the OBCQ Family, byt his own dear ones, and by the wider community. Now his struggles are over and he lives in our Saviour's nearer presence. Soldier of Christ, well done!

What a loss tor the CBOQ family and for the wonderful people of First Baptist, Smitth Falls. He was a wonderful mentor to me when we served together in leadership of CBOQ. But what rejoicing there must be in Heaven for the arrival of such a faithful servant of His Lord.

"And the king said to his servants, 'Do you not know that a prince and a great man has fallen this day in Israel?'" (2 Samuel 3:38)
Don as a prince in the kingdom of God achieved greatness in his service to the King of Kings, the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who know and love Don were blessed as a result! May the consolation of the presence of God comfort and encourage his immediate family, church family and CBOQ family as together we sorrow but not as those who have no hope. To the Family of Rev. Crisp,
I am not a member of your church but a few years ago I got the chance to meet your husband and father when he helped me greatly with my son. You see his grandfather passed away very sudden and he found him . At that time my son was only 8 yrs old and as one can imagaine it was a very tramitic event for him. He had a very hard time in coming to grips with his grandfathers passing and thru one of your church members it was suggested to me that we meet with the Rev. After a few visits my son was his old self. He has never spoken to me what was said between Rev.Crisp and himself but when he comes home he always asks about him. He has been informed of his passing and he also sends his regrets. Rev. Crisp will always be a special person in my son's life and I know he has had that impact on others. May God Bless his soul

Dear Trish and family: I am so thankful for Don and his ministry, particularly to my Mom and our family during some tough times for my father, Horace Estabrooks and during his battle with cancer. New in Town
We were new in town and looking for a church. I had told my husband that it was up to him as I am comfortable at either church we had it narrowed down to. That Sunday we were at FBC and Don came up to Wil and asked if he take us to lunch at some point to get to know us better. Wil was impressed. We went to lunch with Don and Tricia and after that we knew that we had found our church. Don and Tricia were so supportive of our family during a rough time in our lives and I will be forever thankful. We were so blessed during the short 2 years that we knew him, I wish it would have been longer but I take comfort in the fact that my father is in Heaven welcoming Don to his new, healthy and joyful home!

Comfort
He is with us on our journeys. He is there when we are home, He sits with us at our table. He knows about funersal and wedding and commencements and hospitals and jails and unemplyment and labor and laugher and rest and tears. he know because he is with us. He comes to us again and again, BOB BENSON once quoted. Rev. Crisp was there on the first phone call ot ICU in Smiths Falls, on behalf of my Father, Sam Campbell, he took my brother's and I and prayed. He prayed " Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. Mathew 5:4... He will be sadly missed ...A man of many careers/

Shepherd and Sheep
Don was an authentic pastor, in that the German word "pastor" means "shepherd". He brought me out to Smith's Falls area to perform Dessert Theatre outreach in a local hall, and it was a pleasure to watch him greet friends and strangers, churchgoers and stray sheep, seniors and children. Don didn't shirk the oridnary work of preparing, including prayer, and it showed in the results. After that, I always looked forward to catching up with him annually at Assembly and other events, and on facebook & email. Trish informed me of his crisis last winter, yet she and Don were just as concerned for our church and our pastor Buff Cox, who died in March.
Character is hard to define but easy to recognize. Don was a man of character. Don was prepared for eternity.
Don was a good shepherd.

Pastor of all Pastors
Pastor Don was the best pastor ever. Often pastors, I believe lose their priorities and prioritize roles of community event planners, business administrators and all the other roles which have come to mar the role that I believe God originally intended for pastors. Pastor Don cared where people are at spiritually as a community as well as individually. God gave him the gift of seeing where God wanted to take people spiritually and walked beside them guiding them along the way from where they at right now. I remember one of the recent times with spent with Pastor Don and Tricia. In a chart on his laptop, he kept a record of each member of his congregation which was large at the time, and how he had connected with them at least 2 or 3 times a year on an individual basis, whether it be a visit, phone call, meeting, golfing date. This gave him opportunity to shepherd and guide those under his care with the wisdom to where God used him to bring them to a place where God wanted them to be. This was done along with great sermons, public ministry in the community of a radio broadcast and planning groups to minister in other lands. Whenever I was with him, I felt the presence of the Lord there. This meaning of shepherd or pastor has been lost in modern day by many. I will miss Pastor Don but I know God is ultimate Shepherd and will not leave us alone. Just to show what an amazing man he was along with his sweet companion of life, years after we both had moved to other locations so officially he wasn't our pastor, he took a vacation and brought along helps and the greatest help to us, him and his wife along with the Holy Spirit, to help us along the way of challenges we were experiencing in our marriage at the time. He felt a responsibility because he had married us maybe; but maybe it was just because He loved the Lord and cared about His people. There is going to be a hole in the lives of many with his passing. I am very grateful that he has been a major part of our lives and I know God has been using him to train up others like minded to fill the gap. Maybe even Kai :)
