Gerry Crotty posted a condolence
Dear Tammy, Mark, Nicole Brock and family. The Crotty's are so sad to hear of your loss. "Bun" as he was affectionately called by most at the rink was not just Brock's Grandpa to the Minor Midget Cyclones but he was one of the teams best supporters. He always had a good word to share and became a friend to all the parents. He had a love of hockey and kids that you could see at the rink and that is what made him such a lovable fan against the glass at a game.
I have always believed that you measure yourself by the path that you leave others. "Bun" has done a great job as evidenced by the great family you are.
Love the Crotty's

Tammy, Dan and family. As my neighbour, I have lots of good memories of conversations over the fence with your dad and the help he provided to me so willingly without even being asked. The best way I can describe him is to say he was such a generous, soft spoken, quick-witted person, with a never ending love for his family. Keep him in your hearts and just remember, he's with your mom now and they're catching up. Rest peacefully Bun.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this sad time. Our memories of Bernard were fun as he liked to trick me into thinking him and Raymond were twins. Brian had a hard time convincing me otherwise.

Tammy, Dan and family. I'm so sorry I won't be able to make it to Smiths Falls for Bun's funeral. I've been really ill with the flu and ongoing lung issues since mid-December. I was hoping to feel up to the drive there and back from Ottawa today, but unfortunately, I don't. Please know that you have all been in my thoughts this week and I'll be thinking of you even more today. Bun was such a nice man and I'm proud to say I knew him. Today will be a tough one, but you're strong and will make it through.

Dear Tammy and Dan and family, So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Bun was a fixture at the Bears hockey venues ... over the years where I came to know him being a one time Coach of the Bears, and other Smiths Falls players ... I did have a great deal of respect for his kind council. Such a likeable personality is hard to come by especially at the rink. Bun has always had my respect ... like many I will personally miss him; RIP Bun.

Safe travels my Friend

Dearest Tammy, Dan and Families,

Sad to hear of Bun's passing but am happy to see him standing beside Sharon again. I was fortunate enough to coach with Dan and coach Tammy many years.....When you coach at the level we were interaction with Parents is inevitable....Sharon and Bun Madden were fine examples of how to positively re-enforce your Children's dreams and abilities.....Sharon quietly in the stands, smiling and cheering always....Bun would always stand along the outfield fence line watching and making mental notes being the coach he was....Once or twice during the game either I would walk over to him or he would come to the side of our bench and offer a thing or two he had noticed.....It was always helpful and always passed on in the right spirit.....I admired Bun's competative edge and the will and disciplines he passed on to his children.....I saw my Team in September of this year for our 25th anniversary.....I was elated to see all of them and some of theParents who were able to make it.....I was most pleased that Bun was there as we were able to reminisce and talk as if time had stood still......Safe travels haron it is great to see You smile...
