Dear Michelle , Sean and Brenden
Please let me tell you how very very sorry I am of your loss of Jim, who sounds like a wonderful husband and father. Michelle I only got to you through our first Masters course together but you spoke so lovingly of how proud you were of your whole family.
Your hearts are broken by such a deep loss of an amazing man. I know you have lots of people around you who loved Jim and who love you - so lean on them in this very difficult time. And lean on each other - I know together you will hold each other up. Let tears come ... and hang on - Michelle you are an amazing woman and this family you both created will continue and will flourish in a way that you and Jim both wanted.
I am so very very sorry Michelle - please know I am thinking of you...

Jim, you've left our team at work in shock... we all so wish that you never left us. It was only a few months ago that we were hitting baseballs and driving go carts, acting like children again.
I will never forget that big smile you always had, your deep raspy voice or the respectful person you always were. It was a great pleasure to not only work with you, but to become friends.
I know you will watch over your family and hopefully help them get through this difficult time. Good bye my friend...Chris

Dear Michelle, Sean, Brenden and the entire Laidley family.
I was deeply saddened to hear the sudden news of Jim’s death.
The first thing that came to mind for me upon knowing the worst, was the sound of Jim’s laugh..I will always remember the deep happy resonance and more especially the message it conveyed.
He was so very present in his laugh...and through that sound it was evident he was an attentive and loving father, husband, son, sibling, uncle and friend.
I am so very sorry for the heartache that you must go through...and as time goes on I will wish for you all, a gentle turn in the road and for peaceful acceptance to come into view....And when that day comes I am sure the sound of Jim’s laughter....will not be far behind.
Thinking of you all.
Elisa

Michelle,I only had the privilege of knowing your family for a short time, but they will always be one of my favorites. It was very obvious that Jim was devoted to his sons, playing with Brenden while Sean took class, snapping candid photos, being a supportive caring father. It was also very obvious to me that your sons share his good nature. You could see a kindness in their beautiful eyes and hear the same joy of life in their laugh. I hope this helps you as you move forward with your lives, knowing he is still with you, just in a different form. Hugs to all from "Sensei" Gail.
