Thank you to all who has shared condolence for my father, He was a well known musician ,and was inducted into the Ottawa valley country music hall of fame in 2000 , it was something he was very proud of, He always spoke highly of his fellow musicians, I myself had a opportunity to play on one of my father's albums, living on the edge. My father was a musician who lived music, it brought him happiness and memory's, He lived the way he wanted to live, and Country music as well as entertaining his friends was always a part of who he was, But as we all do, we have low times in life and high times. Today we share a low time dealing with the passing of my father. A friend, a father, a musician, a song writer or a novelist. He was something to us all.. Rest In Peace Dad
Love always your son, Frederick Lawrence Dixon .

I am so saddened to learn of Freddy’s passing. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family at this sad time. Musically, Freddy was a pro and he loved it! I followed many of his shows throughout the Ottawa Valley and beyond when my daughter Arlene took part.in Freddy’s shows including his CD release party and The Johnny Cash and June Carter shows etc. Freddy will also be missed by his music family. A ledgend has left a great void but his music plays on in his CD’s. I will treasure his book, given to me by Freddy and signed too. Rest In Peace my friend.

I am saddened to learn of Fred's passing. He was an Ottawa Valley Legend, known and loved by all, and he's been missed the past couple of years from the music scene. He would always donate his talent anytime he was asked, whether it be on the Ron & Jeff McMunn Heart Jam every February in Carleton Place, or the Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall of Fame show every September at Meridian Centrepointe Theatre in Ottawa, or many local fundraisers in between. I was honoured to be asked to be part of his latest CD release party in Perth a few years back.
Freddy will be sorely missed, but his music will live on! My sincere condolences to Vlasta and to all his family and friends.

Sorry to hear of Freddy’s passing. The announcement was unexpected. Many great times when Freddy and his band entertained back in the late 70’s and 80’s on the Big Rideau at the cottage. Freddy was always positive and liked to make you laugh when he told a joke as part of a conversation. Our condolences to the entire family. Vlasta will certainly miss the love of her life “The Midnight Cowboy”. Emmett & Donna Griffiths

Our sincere condolences to Vlasta and the Dixon and Weber families. The first guitar player I ever saw was Fred playing in the back yard next door. Later I would play in his band for ten years. A very funny man who never took life too seriously. He always encouraged my playing as he guided me from the rock world to the country world. One of his favourite expressions was "You're playin' for Fred, not Led". That was as close as he ever came to saying anything negative about anything I played. We're shocked that this larger than life personality is gone.

Vlasta and Family: I am sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I knew him from his days at R.R.C. I always enjoyed his stories of travelling in his younger days trying to get a start as a musician. He was a true artist that could manage to capture and express peoples feelings in his songs. I have thought of his music and song many times over the years it is loss to the Lanark County.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Vlasta and the Dixon and Weber family. Freddy and Vlasta have always shown us kindness and encouragement as they have to many others. Freddy has entertained throughout his life and taught history with his lyrics. I am sure my dad and Sam were holding a place at a table for him and he is being welcomed by many.
