Bill, Derek, Cassidy, Courtney and your families-my deepest condolences to you all. I had the privelege of knowing Myrna when I was a teenager, and then again as an adult, working together at the Civic. I have many happy memories, and very much appreciated her no-nonsense insights on life and my expectations of it. Whenever I think of Myrna, that smile in the picture you have included is always the central part. My thoughts are with you all.

Coach Bill, Derek, Cassidy, Courtney and families,
It was an honour to know your wife/mom, she was an exceptional lady. I vividly recall many conversations where someone was saying, "Myrna was the first person to call me on my birthday". The great times around the arena or opening the door to invite us into your home, she was always smiling. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Derek, Cass, Court and Bill-my deepest sympathies for the loss of your mother and wife. Myrna was a shining light in so many lives but especially mine; she was a mother to me when I needed one most as she opened her heart and home to me. I considered Myrna and you all as much my family as the one I was born into as I do to this day. I share in your grief and while I can’t be there in person due to travel restrictions, know that I am with each of you in loving spirit.

Bill, Derek, Cassidy, Courtney, Pat and I loved Myrna. Never a bad day it seemed. Here broad, bright smile and laugh I can still remember. The fun we had on the hockey trips to Embrun and around the arena in CP. It has been difficult knowing what you all have been going thru this past number of years. Even though the pain is now over it's never really over is it. Our condolences to you all.

How lucky I am to have someone that makes saying goodbye so hard. My mother has left me with a heart flooded with memories and to choose just one is impossible. I’ll start with peonies. It was a hot summers day and the yard was full of maple trees with canopies that protected our bronzed, angelic young skin just ever so slightly, from the beaming hot sun. My brothers were playing in the fresh cut grass, chasing a ball with their black lab and forever friend. My mother was sitting on the back step to the entrance of the house. Her hair was light brown with natural blonde highlights, she was wearing a buttercup yellow t-shirt with a pair of cut-off jean shorts and bare feet. She was stunning! My mum was surrounded by peonies from the garden. They were full and bloomed to their most striking state but even she shone in their presence. In my memory, she is almost engulfed by peonies, as if she were put in this one place on earth, the most beautiful place just for me, for this memory. I was continually peeking around the corner at her. Golden bangles would swing up and down her arm, chiming on her wrist as she tucked her hair behind her ear to escape the heat. I was no more than 7 or 8years old, but I watch and stared at her in absolute wonder. Her purity, her grace and her beauty warmed my heart to it’s fullest. She sat and took a break. I felt safe and happy and content in that very moment. I felt that we were untouchable and that nothing could ever go wrong if my mother were near. She caught a glimpse of me, she opened her arms guiding me towards her. I ambled near and she pulled me in tight. Her hugs were like no other, sincere, warm, truthful, comforting, reassuring and fixed everything. I do not know how I will live without those hugs anymore. My mother held me close and we giggled and laughed, watching my brothers run in circles with amusement. She allowed me to twirl her earrings. We were all waiting patiently for my father to arrive home from work. Every time a car drove by, we would stop and listen, hoping that it was his arrival. Suddenly, I saw my brothers stop and look toward the driveway and run as quickly as they could to greet and welcome my dad home as he pulled into the driveway. My mother and I stood up and headed toward my dad, who ever so gently gave my mother a kiss; he always kissed her on the lips. It was this very moment that will stick with me in my heart forever and the beauty of the peonies will always remind me of a woman like no other, a woman with elegance, beauty, kindness and a heart made of the absolute purest kind, my mum.
My comfort now is that from pain, you’ve found relief. It is hard to breathe most days and it is in these times that I can smell you and hear your voice and remember what time I did have you for. We were blessed to have you as our mother and there will not be a day goes by that I won’t think of you and yearn for your comforts. You have inspired and blessed me in so many ways. I will miss you deeply and I will hold your bright, creative and generous light to bless and inspire those around me. Heaven is that much more beautiful now that you are there. You are so very loved. ~ Cassidy

That is an absolutely beautiful memory to hold onto. I will always remember your mom fondly and the many days and nights spent in that house as a child. She had a knack for making everyone feel like one of the family. I am so very sorry to hear of your loss and send my condolences to your brothers and dad as well.
