It's hard to imagine Christmas dinner without Colin there, but I'm glad to have this picture.
After such a long stay in the hospital this fall, Colin felt well enough to cook Christmas dinner this year. I really thought he had so much more time left.
I've known Colin since I had a long term memory and there are just so many things I will remember fondly: his sense of humour, quick wit and pranks, his kindness to animals (he rescued many cats and dogs, as well as his work with horses), countless card games and many others. I remember many journeys together too: taking the family dog for walks along the Jack Pine trail, canoe rides (once he tipped the canoe we were in to get a laugh. I was mad at the time but find it so funny now), rides on his motorcycle, his truck when he tried to teach me to drive standard, and a drive to the airport when I moved away. I wish him peace on his final journey and miss him very much.
