My deepest condolences on the passing of Steve
I remember when I was just a little tyke on Foster Street going into Wes plumbing shop downstairs( and mom saying don’t be in there bugging they’re trying to work) Steve would be in there sometimes with his dad looking very serious and business like but he always took the time to say hello and smile. In later years I remember seeing him when I would go to CYC. Always smiling and so soft spoken.
Like Steve would say he’s in the arms of god now..
May he RIP

Wes, Dorothy, Rick, Barb, Chelsea, sweet Felix, Yves and family,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute to you all, way TOO soon. Sending you comforting hugs, and healing prayers during this time of deep sadness. You are in our thoughts, and prayers today, and in the difficult days ahead.
Stevie has always been, and will remain forevermore, my favourite Uncle. We shared many great times over the years, and those fond memories will live on. We also share a nickname that he created “Knobby and Knobhead”. It was our inside term of endearment and his signature line and salutation to our messages “Knobby, .....from your fav uncle”. I will miss those ! He was so kind, compassionate, generous, patient, talented, free spirited, “sometimes feisty”, fun, selfless, and the list goes on; Lover of Life;’ never expecting anything in return.
Wes and Dorothy, you raised a gem of a son, and this world was a better place for having Steve in it. He will be missed dearly by so many and has had made such a positive impact on those he knew (and some he didn’t know, through his music, his presence and his kindness to others). The road was not always easy, but his outlook on life didn’t falter. It was evident how important he held family and friends near and dear to his heart. I know mom thoroughly enjoyed his regular visits to her shop as well.
He will ALWAYS be the one and only PIANO MAN here on this plain, and now in the realm of heaven. All the angels are now blessed with his musical talent and kindness.
It was a really nice virtual service today. Rick, as emotional as this day was, and as difficult as it must have been, you delivered a beautiful and heartfelt eulogy. I’m sure he was watching over all of you, playing a tune of his own in the background.
Uncle Steve, a saint that will never be forgotten. God bless and “Knobby”, until we meet again,
Love Niece Lisa (aka Knobby, Knobhead) xo
(Mom, Dad and Tanya too)

To:the Hannah family,
Very sorry to learn of Steve's passing and want to extend deepest sympathies to the family. Chris Shadbolt, James McConnell and myself treasured the opportunity to get together for dinner at least annually over the past several years with Groovy as he was affectionately known to us. I will deeply miss these interactions. Steve taught us much about patience and having a good attitude and sense of humour dispite
some major disappointments and setbacks he endured simply through his example. After being together after some of these get togethers, I was encouraged and challenged to focus on what matters most and be thankful regardless of circumstances.Steve, you were talented in so many ways and had a tremendous wit! Thanks for being a great example by choosing to look on the brighter side. Heaven has gained a great "play by ear" piano player in their band. Love you Groovy.

To the Hannah Family,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of our "Piano Man", Steve. I first met Steve , surprisingly, in the music room at PDCI!
We would all go there after school, and hang out, practice, or just be "wowed" by Steve's amazing piano playing. He could play almost anything that one could request. It was such fun for everyone, especially him. It was clear that he had such passion for his music. Years later we were all treated to his solo performances in the area, as "The Piano Man". Everyone knew Steve ,as the great guy with the big talent. I'm sure he has rubbed shoulders with most of the great area musicians, at sometime .
My fondest memories are from the days of "The Boxing Day Band", which was , naturally held on that day. It represented a wonderful time to reconnect with past friends, have a few laughs, and enjoy some spontaneous music making. It always was a date on my calendar!
Thank you Steve for sharing your special talent with all of us. Rest in peace my friend.
Sincere and heartfelt condolenscences to his family.
Sheila Spence and Bill Kevan.

I pass along condolences from my wife Jeannie Tilson and myself to Dorothy, Wes, Rick and Barb, Chelsea, Yves and Felix and the rest of Steve's family and friends.I came to know Steve as a neighbour and close friend in 1982 when I moved to Perth with my parents. Steve and I did become fast friends and regularly addressed each other as "Bill". We shared many travelling journeys and unique 'wonderings' and discussions over the years. We shared many, many good times with other friends including Howie, Rob, Peter, John and Mike. I respected Steve and I loved him as my close friend. He had an uncanny skill at knowing when to just listen and when to draw out your feelings and thoughts through conversations. I will miss Steve's earthly friendship and his music and look forward to catching up with him later on. God bless you and keep you Steve - your friend "Bill".

I was heartbroken to hear the news of my buddy Steve’s sudden passing! I will forever be thankful for his friendship, his sense of humour, his kindness and his gift of music that he shared with us all for so many years! He was so good at sending me messages to check in on me to see how my parents or I or Sammy were doing! ! Every once in awhile after my parents and I had moved to Carleton Place I’d get a message from him saying he missed us! I will miss our many breakfasts at the Cafe Hideaway with he and his parents and my parents and I and I will miss that smile when I’d see him out walking and say it’s Kimmie! Our loss is definitely heaven’s gain but I am thankful that your eyesight has been completely restored and I know that our “Piano Man” is playing that Grand Piano in heaven and making it talk! I can just imagine the reunion in heaven with all of his family and friends who were eagerly waiting to greet him when he arrived in heaven! Sending love, hugs, prayers and deepest condolences to you, Wes and Dorothy and family from my Dad and I both! May God comfort your hearts!
