I was glad she was able to make it to Regina during the last month of my dad's life, and brother and sisters could be together one last time on this earth. Karen, Louise and Brian I am so sorry to hear of Dassie’s passing. I think of my time with her often.She was such a lovely lady. Hard working is certainly an understatement. I will always remember the creaking of the booth door, the spinning of the stools while we waited for our grilled burgers wrapped in a napkin with a toothpick to hold it in place... pixie sticks...black liquorice pipes. In Hammer’s shop I remember the smell of outboard oil and gas and the echo of the lapping waves in the boat house. I remember Hammer yelling Brrriiiiaann ...who was hiding I’m sure because he just needed a break. Most of all I remember Dassie who worked so hard yet always greeted us with a smile and was always interested in what we were up to today. I remember when she was overwhelmed she would look down and rest her fingers on her forehead.Then she seemed to take a deep breath or say a quick prayer and the smile would come flowing back. She was devoted to her family, friends and her God. Peace be with all of you. Take this time to reflect on your mom and take care of yourselves. Love Patti Hall

Sending much love and condolences to Karen, Louise, Briand and their families at this sad time. I have such wonderful memories of my brother's and my summers at Stan and Glady's home and marina and their hard work and long hours that made it so successful. She was our summer Mother and so much more. Her love for God and her family is her legacy. The "Ferry" has lost it's Matriarch and heaven has gained a beautiful soul. Soar with the angels Aunt Gladys. Forever in my heart.

Our condolences to Brian, Karen, Louise and family for your loss. I have fond memories living at Uncle Stan and Aunt Gladys Rideau Ferry home during my teenage summer years. I recall Aunt Gladys would be so patient with me as she taught me the gas/oil ratios for the boat motors. So many happy memories there on the docks.

Who would have imagined 2 girls from the prairies would end up in Rideau Ferry & area! O how my Aunty's home here embraced my homesickness. Surrounded by your family then transformed to being surrounded in His glory, I sure will miss you, but tears are wiped away with the hope of seeing u again. My 'steadfast in her faith' Aunt Gladys.
