Obituary of Doreen Harriet Guy-Wastell

Passed away peacefully at Lanark Lodge on Monday, June 21, 2021 at the age of 79.  Loving and devoted mother of Sharon Wastell (Rob Schening), Sheila Wastell, and Susan Beechey (Heath Beechey) and the late Scott Wastell.  Cherished grandmother of John Wastell (deceased), Morgan Wastell-Davidson (Brandon Davidson), Hailey Schening (Matthew Couvrette), Amber Schening, Spencer Schening, Mattias Beechey, Rogan Beechey, Reed Beechey and Slater Beechey; and proud great-grandmother of Rylee Davidson.  She is survived by her siblings Hubert, Millie (Harry Gardiner) and Geoffrey; and is predeceased by her sister Joyce and her brother Sidney.  Doreen will be fondly remembered by her brother-in-law Roger and sister-in-law Mary, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, there will be a private graveside service at Morewood Cemetery at a later date.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Lanark County Alzheimer Society or LAWS.

There is so much to tell, and so much to say.

As we gather around, on this very sad day.

We think of the present, we remember the past.

We cherish the memories, and pray they will last.

We remember your smile, and flowing blonde hair.

How you tried to help everyone needing some care.

We remember the fun talks about family we had.

And days filled with laughter, and a few which were sad.

Times can be hard, and seem fleeting, it's true.

So now is the day, to reflect about you.

Cus life is too short, to put things off for a day.

Oh mom how we will miss you in every way.
