May 23, 1939 – August 16, 2021
Peacefully at the Smiths Falls District Hospital on Monday, August 16, 2021. Don Halpenny of Merrickville in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Helen (nee McLean) for 57 years.
Loving father to Hal (Sharon) and Laurie. Cherished Grandfather of Colleen (Cory Dickson), Cameron and Connor. Very proud Great Grandpa of Warren Dickson.
Dear brother-in-law of Jim (Alma) McLean of Rideau Ferry, Eva (David Carr) of Brockville and the late Louise (Jack Simmers) of Arizona. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Don’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date.
Don was a lifelong resident, farmer, councillor and supporter of the Merrickville-Wolford community. In memorium donations to the Merrickville Agricultural Society or the Merrickville Legion Branch 245 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
