Obituary of Kenneth Lorne Pyle
After a brief illness, Kenneth Lorne Pyle, age 85, of Portland, Ontario passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday August 26, 2021 at the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital – Smiths Falls Site. Born in the small, rural Irish settlement of Bourg-Louis, Quebec to the late James Pyle and Gladys Smith. Long-time resident of Ayers Cliff, Quebec and, later, Portland, Ontario. Ken is remembered as being an honest, hard-working, kind man with a good sense of humour. In his working years Ken was well respected in his community for his lawn mowing and snow removal business, establishing many friendships throughout the years. Ken is survived by his wife Rona Pyle; his children Bruce Pyle (Debbie), Dale Pyle (Priscilla), and Jamie Pyle (Ken); his grandchildren Nicholas Pyle (Kristy), Eric Pyle, Keith Pyle, Sabastian Balderston, William Balderston, and Beatrice Balderston; his great-grandson Elliott Pyle; his sister Lilian Hamilton (Kim), brother Ernest Pyle, sister-in-law Ada Pyle, and his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Ken is predeceased by his brothers Ervin Pyle and Stanley Pyle, as well as his late son Paul Pyle. A small private interment will be held at a later date and details for a celebration of Ken’s life will be forthcoming for family and friends.
