Obituary of Elmer Richard Reid

Peacefully at Lanark Lodge on Thursday, November 4^th, 2021, Elmer passed away to be with our Lord at the age of 95. Elmer was predeceased by his first wife Florence (nee Ladouceur) and for 45 years he was her loving and devoted husband. He was the greatly cherished husband and best friend to his second wife Susan (nee Price) who now, and always will, miss the love and companionship they shared for almost 25 years.He was the cherished father of Neil (Eva), Lyle (Pat) and Wayne (Lori), step-father of Selina (Dave Marshall) and Michael (Dawn) Evans. Elmer had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he was so proud of. He will be sadly missed by his twin sisters Lilias (Percy Sweeney) and Lila (late Billy Darou), and by his sisters-in-law Mary Lou Reid and Laurence Munro. Elmer was predeceased, his brother Bob, and by his sisters Helen (Ross Campbell) and Dorothy (Earl Stead). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Sue would like to thank all the nurses, psw’s and support staff at Lanark Lodge for all their wonderful care, support and friendship over the last 3 years.

Friends are invited to join the family for a simple graveside service celebrating Elmer’s life at Greenwood Cemetery, Middleville on Saturday, November 13^th, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. A luncheon will follow at Trinity United Church, Middleville. Please know, those wishing to attend the luncheon must have proof of full vaccination, However, it is not required for the graveside service. In honour of Elmer, memorial contributions to Lanark Lodge would be greatly appreciated.  Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
