It has been an honour and a privilege to have worked with Ian for the past 10 years!! We shared so many great adventures together!! One of my favourite adventures was the week that we spent in Nova Scotia at the cottage on the Bay of Fundy. We travelled to a different location each day & as Ian & I sat in the back seat enjoying every moment, I would sing "On the road again". A memory I will cherish in my heart forever!! Ian was loved by all who knew him & I will truly miss spending time with him. One thing I know for sure is that because of Ian and Audrey and Fred, the world is a better place for ALL the Ian's of the world!! You were a gift!! Rest in peace Ian. ❤

Audrey, we were so sorry to hear of your loss; it is not the right order of things for a parent to lose a child. I know that because of Ian and your work on his behalf, many other people will not face some of the barriers you both had to battle against.
I know that you have had some challenging times, but you will have some great memories of Ian and I do hope that those will sustain and give you comfort.
We remember Ian coming to visit your Mum at the family home in Carleton in North Yorkshire - I am so glad to have met him - he made a lasting impression on us all.

Few people have had as much of an impact on the world as your Ian. You and Fred demonstrated the meaning of love and commitment. Your recognition of Ian's right to live his own life and not to be controlled by others inspired the concept of supported-decision-making now enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and challenging outmoded perceptions of people with intellectual disabilities around the world.

I have so many wonderful memories of you --- your incredible love for your Mom and Dad, your loving relatonship with your Uncle Keith, your love of opera music, your enjoyment of volunteering at the libraby, your handsome presence and joyful participation in the CACL 50th Anniversary celebrations. my condolences to Audrey and the rest of the family. I had never met Ian but had heard about him and his amazing mom from others. i recently had an opportunity to hear Audrey and Michael Kendrick speak about Supported Decision Making. Audrey said for Ian's sake she wants the law to change. I am sorry Ian did not have the opportunity to see the change but in his spirit Audrey many families and their loved ones will fight to make it happen as in many other provinces. Thank you to Ian and Audrey for all they have done.
